Playlist: Five Tracks for Welcoming Winter

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Except when it's not. Now that we've wrapped up our Fall Survival Kit, it's time to break out the winter essentials. Whether you've been struggling to let fall go and can't deal with the inevitably nearing yuletide festivities and snow, or can't wait for said antics, here are five tracks to welcome winter. Grab your favorite bourbon, put on a comfy sweater and pop this in your playlist.

Trentemoller: While The Cold Winter Waiting

We know, we know - the title says it all. Here's to cold winter nights and fireplaces... and a sad, sombre tune from none other than Danish boss of moody melodies and dream-like atmospheres: Trentemoller.

Kasbo: I Don't Get

After some dance floor-ready offerings and remixes, Kasbo comes through with this stunning, stripped down original. Don't hold your breath waiting for a "drop" — instead, get ready for dusting that old snowboard and hitting the slopes while taking in the crisp winter air with this in your headphones. You can thank us later.

Oskar Linnros: Från Balkongen/Get Free

While Major Lazer's "Get Free" is itself is great (and a case in point in proving less is more), this moody mashup with Oskar Linnros' modern classic "Från Balkongen" takes it to a whole new level.

Kenneth Aaron Harris: The Plains

We're not sure what makes this a winter-y song, but listening to anything by Kenneth Aaron Harris makes sense when you're in that comfy cardigan sweater sipping Knob Creek around the fireplace.

The Postal Service: The District Sleeps Alone Tonight

After you're done with Harris' albums, you've only got The Postal Service's "Give Up" to enjoy. The first song on the album, "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight", is nearly as good as it gets - until there's "Sleeping In" and "Nothing Better", back to back.
